Service Estimator- HVAC
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
5 years of HVAC field service experience preferred. Excel and Word mid-level proficiency and ability to learn operating systems (Sampro, Quote Manager, etc.) is required.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and successful background check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or Service Managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Responsible for receiving, creating, closing, and submitting service quotes.
• Constant communication with all interested parties (customer, technician, Service Manager, throughout the process.
• Take actions to deal with the results of delays and to determine additional cost, if any.
• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Bringing about optimum utilization of resources- labor, materials and equipment, and ensuring procurement at most cost-effective terms.
• Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
• Coordinate with the service team as needed on sold work.
• Order/expedite in-stock and external materials, equipment, etc. that will be required.
• Brief Service team as to job scope and specifications.
• Ensure that all quoted paperwork has been completed, reviewed and that all relevant information has been forwarded to the office.
• Performs any other duties that are not specifically mentioned but necessary to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability of assigned projects.

REQUIRED POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Commercial HVAC- Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the repair of HVAC equipment.
• Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
• Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
